Kaliningrad-Riga bus overturns in Lithuania, injuring 26

VILNIUS, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) — A coach en route from Russia’s Kaliningrad to the Latvian capital of Riga overturned in Lithuania’s Sakiai district on Monday morning, injuring 26 people and leaving two passengers stuck inside.
Lithuania’s Fire and Rescue Department said it received a call at 5:51 a.m. (0251 GMT) that the coach with 47 people aboard had overturned in the village of Zygenai in Sakiai district, the Baltic News Service (BNS) said.
According to preliminary information, the injured passengers, including minors, were taken to hospitals, and the two trapped passengers were freed by firefighters.
Firefighters, medics and police officers are working at the scene.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway. ■
